Countdown posts to Mori Chacks' visit to Singapore!

STGCC 2010 is gonna see some of the best artists coming down to give us an aesthetic treat :D
And of all the artists who are going to make an appearance, there is ONE whom I am most interested in seeing.

That's right, it's Mori Chack! Known best for his extremely successful Gloomy Bear lineup, he also has several other characters that are oh-so-unbelievably cute.

Anyways, for the upcoming STGCC, Mori-san will be selling a 9-inch sitting Gloomy plush in 5 colors. These are manufactured by PlayImaginative, and sales are probably at their booth too.
Well, IMO the are teh-suck...NOT. 9-inch plushes aren't your everyday sizes, and in the world of Gloomy, sky blue and Instinctive(grey) aren't very common either! However I would say that the plush is modeled after very common versions of the Gloomy plushies. Good or bad? You be the judge. :)

Well start counting down folks, its 26 days to STGCC 2010. Be there, or be squarshed by Gloomy.

So what's up at PARCO Marina?

A couple of days ago I posted about the Gotochi Kitty and Kaiju Blue event at PARCO Marina.

Well I finally went down today, and here's the lowdown~

All the above are available from $10 and up! The Hello Kitty X Gloomy items are must haves, for both HK and Gloomy enthusiasts and are almost IMPOSSIBLE to find in Singapore! So do head down ASAP to snap up these hard-to-find items.

Gotochi Kitty and Kaiju Blue come to Singapore!

For the first time in history, all the iconic Hello Kitty's from Japan will be centrally available from PARCO Marina! This is perhaps the only chance to acquire all those iconic Kitties which would otherwise only be available at select locations in Japan. Do away with the trouble of scrambling all over Japan, and just scramble down to PARCO Marina to get them :D

In addition, Kaiju Blue will be bringing down their merchandise, consisting of REALxHEAD productions, Kaiju Blue exclusives and of course, Gloomy Bear merch!!!

Do take note of this on your calendar, as the event will only be held for 13 days from 10 Nov to 22 Nov! (They will close at 7pm on the last day)

I'll be heading down a couple of days later to check it out, and post my acquisitions and the stuff thats available, so stay tuned! :D

Another piece of Gloomy-ness~

I had a friend return from Japan just a couple of days ago.

I requested her to keep an eye out for ANYTHING Gloomy there, which she did, however she was unable to grab anything from the UFO machines. (>.<)
Gloomy bear handkerchief (Instinctive). For those who don't know, that refers to grey.

This would be from a lineup that can only be obtained in Japan from Gachapon Machines. Which are most certainly rare in Kyushu, considering my friend only found it on her LAST day there (Lucky me~)

Other items that can be Gacha-ed from the machines are, name tags that come in pink and albino colorways, a pink version of the handkerchief I have, and lastly a pink gloomy face Omiyage (Present) drawstring bag. :D

All that goodness only for 200 yen. So those heading to Japan do keep an eye out for these rare Gacha-machines.

P.S. did I mention these are a special release for the 10th Anniversary of Gloomy Bear?

STGCC 2010

I attended the past two STGCC's back in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Mori Chack was one of the guests attending STGCC '08, and boy was that a BALL!!

I managed to grab a couple of rare items, a T-shirt, and a handbag. Both of which were discontinued items, probably sold out of his personal collection (Mori Chack is known to give out stuff from his personal collection as gifts and whatnot)

In 2009, it was disappointing to find out that He who created Gloomy would not be attending. :(

This year however, in STGCC '10, HE WILL BE RETURNING! (YES! WOOHOO!)

Several tidbits about STGCC '10.

1) It's held in Singapore,Suntec City Convention Centre.
2) It will be held from 10 - 12 December 2010.
3) This time it's being organised by REED EXHIBITIONS. (The past 2 conventions were organised by PlayImaginative)
4) There WILL be EXCLUSIVES!

So ladies and gentlemen, do note this down on your calendar and hope to see you down at the convention! :D

For the fans of the iphone.....?

A couple of weeks ago, Taito released their catalogue entry for the Gloomy bear Iphone 3G/3GS case. It comes in 3 awesome colors with different artwork on each one.

My personal favourite is PURPLE, but that's just cos it's my favourite color, and it does not dampen my desire to own all 3! (That's the rabid gloomy in me speaking) Not to mention it comes WITH a screen protector too, but that's more or less standard inclusion nowadays.

Well, I've got quite a bit of backlog on this post, :( but even BEFORE this case was released, Mori Chack posted on his blog a production by FEWMANY (a designer store based in Tokyo).

This version comes in black and white, with the same fullblooded-gloomy-goodness.

The real question now is, with the advent of the Iphone 4, is he going to release an Iphone 4 case?

Well the answer is, YES! However I have yet to obtain the pictures of the Iphone 4 cases. BUT I do have this to appease those who desire something Gloomy to put on their Iphone 4!!
There you go Iphone 4 users! Screen protectors with Gloomy artwork printed on the fringes. I would love to own them, but I don't have an Iphone 4 to parade this awesome screen protectors. :( Only problem is, this is probably only available in Japan, as it's not a Taito release. The FEWMANY case however can be ordered via Lulubell Toys, while the Taito cases ought to be available at your nearest Gloomy Bear distributor. :D

Gloomy Peace Bear Artwork

Devilrobots Peace Project 2010 has officially started!

However my main focus is the fantastic artwork that's going up for grabs at this auction by Mori Chack.


Yes, a custom one-of-a-kind pink extra bloody gloomy bear with the good ol' blood spatters covered by peace signs! Of course it's signed as well.
